SUON Centre Inc., established in 2007 and located in Toronto, Canada, is the largest overseas base to Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education (JPDE) for international educational exchange and training. SuOn is an international educational development agency which is organized and operated by Jiangsu Education Services for International Exchange (JESIE).

 SUON is primarily responsible for teachers’ training programs for JPDE. From 2008 to 2017, 8,420 teachers and educational administrators from Jiangsu province were trained at SuOn, including 4,410 primary and secondary school teachers, 1,546 secondary and tertiary vocational school teachers, and 2,464 education administrators. In addition, 69 people in educational systems from Xinjiang, Shandong, and other Chinese provinces were trained at SuOn. SuOn also organized four Canada Sub-forums for the International Forum for School Principals of Jiangsu Primary and Secondary Schools and consecutively held four sessions of Chinese Culture Festivals, all of which were highly praised and fully affirmed by local communities, Ontario's education colleagues, and the General Consulate in Toronto. Our academic papers for overseas teacher trainings have been published in International Academic Conferences of the Ministry of Education, People's Daily, and other international academic journals. SuOn has established close cooperative relationships with a number of well-known education organizations such as the University of Toronto, York University, University of Waterloo, The Ontario Ministry of Education, Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development, Ontario Principals’ Council, Toronto District School Board, and other educational administrative departments.

SUON has a fully integrated system of teaching, living infrastructure, and technical equipment. The SUON Centre Building occupies 10,000 square meters and 10-stories. The building is equipped with 20 classrooms of several kinds, all equipped with modern teaching equipment, as well as multi-purpose lecture halls, libraries, computer rooms, etc., to meet all sizes of teaching needs. The building contains a full complement of living facilities with more than 300 climate-controlled single dormitories. The cafeteria of the building can provide high-quality food for more than 400 people at the same time. The building is also equipped with sports and entertainment facilities such as a table tennis room, a dance studio, a gymnasium, etc., to enrich learners’ extra-curricular lives. SUON Building integrates teaching and living in one building, which enables the delivery of all kinds of teaching and training seminars.

SuOn aims to integrate international resources and promote education in Jiangsu. Our motivating philosophy calls for improving the quality of education and creating the SUON brand with the ultimate goal of promoting Chinese culture and strengthening international exchanges. In the fields of education and training, pedagogy and school management, educational services, and education and cultural exchanges, SuOn makes efforts to build an important overseas education base in North America for Jiangsu and elsewhere in China. SUON has become an important base for large-scale and targeted training of overseas talent in Jiangsu and an important platform for promoting the pedagogical spirit of Jiangsu and carrying out foreign cultural exchanges, which contributes to the internationalization of Jiangsu education.
